Beautifully presented heavy Lambs make $380/head at Ballarat

Yarding - 40,881 (+1240).
Lambs - 31,132 (+5450).
Sheep - 9749 (-4210).

Lamb numbers increased to 31,132 yarded, the quality was exceptional with all weights on offer across the yarding, agents yarded several pens of beautifully presented heavy lambs selling to $380/head. All the usual buying group attended in firm to slightly cheaper market for theheavier lambs. Restockers back to the paddock were active paying from $92 to $180 and feeders paid from $176 to $241/head.

Light weight 1 and 2 score lambs, 12 to 18kg sold from $150 to $186/head to average 1,000c/kg cwt. Trade lambs, 18 to 22kg sold from$194 to $225/head to average around 980c/kg cwt. Lambs, 22 to 24kg sold from $215 to $248/head, ranging from 935c to 1,033c to average around 960c/kg cwt. 4 score lambs, 24 to 26kg sold from $233 to $253/head to average around 950c/kg cwt. Heavy 26 to 30kg lambs sold from $246 to $278 to average 920c and over 30kg lambs sold from $273 to $380/head to average around 885c/kg cwt.

Sheep numbers decreased with 9,749 yarded. All weights were offered in a very strong market to see a jump by $30/head in places. Lightweight 1 score sheep sold from $92 to $148/head to average 700c/kg cwt. Medium weight sheep sold from $130 to $209/head to average745c/kg cwt. Heavy sheep, 24 to 30kg sold from $188 to $245 and over 30kg sold from $227 to $282/head. Heavy Merino ewes averaged750c and heavy crossbred ewes averaged 730c/kg cwt. Heavy Merino wethers sold from $186 to $290 and medium weights sold from $145 to$196/head to average 760c/kg cwt. Rams sold to $175/head
