Check out our fortnightly Hay Report here. There is a bit of Hay moving this week, so it might be a good time to list.
We have had great success with refreshing listings back to the top. How we work is all the latest listings go to the top of the page and head down the ladder as new ones come on. If you ever want a listing put back up to the top, give one of the sales guys a call (or text), as all we do is push a button at the back end.
All the staff are Gold Coast bound this weekend for our annual catch up. It's always a great weekend to catch up with the people you work alongside daily but only usually get to see once a year. Very much looking forward to it. We will only have limited staff on Friday (20th) and Monday (23rd).
The overall trends for the last 7 days include UTVs, new Munro Post Drivers, New GE Silos, Tractors, Seed Cleaners, Seed Oats, all types of Hay, SP Sprayers, Combines, Drills, Airseeders, Goats and Portable Sheep Yards.
The Grain job is fascinating right now and could get more interesting. I have been reading reports in the last couple of days saying they are predicting the world Grain market to be strong in the next few years. There is a lot to look forward to in the Grains space.
If you have Grain listings with us, you might want to review them. Give one of the sales guys a call if you need help.
Sales were a little quieter on the Grain and Seed front, with Feed Oats selling at $200, and $225 a tonne, Lupins $485 a tonne, Seed Oats making $390 and many parcels selling for $500 a tonne. Some last-minute Vetch Seed sold for $700 and $725 a tonne.
All prices are ex Farm.

This is what the sales guys said happened this week:
Shane said - There has been some last-minute rush on Seed and Seeding Equipment and some forward-thinking with inquiries on Tractors and Harvest gear. Also, speaking to a few Farmers who have been talking to their accountants and they are looking to spend some money as the Instant Tax Write Off is still available, which means there is only 6 weeks or so to make this happen.
Paul said - The last week has seen Cropping gear continue to shift with everything from Seed Cleaners to Scarifiers and a heap in between. Tractors are still popular, although they are getting scarce. I have also sold a Header and a set of B-Double Stock Crates. Things are going well, and the old saying, if you snooze, you lose, is still very much applicable in the current market. We have also seen a lift in Hay Sales, no price lift though..
Mike said - With a fair bit of rain falling across the Darling Downs starting around St George with 70 to 100 mm intensifying East where upwards of 250 mm fell around Toowoomba. This weather has put on hold planting for some. Others will reconsider planting and may hold off and put more Summer Crop in. Tractors are still reasonably popular, and as Cropping programs change with the weather, so does the Seed requirements. A lot of smaller items are being nibbled at.
