See here the latest Hay Report, hot off the keyboard last night. Check out the write up about Load Looper, the Farmer invented solution for the problem of tossing rachet straps over a load of Hay.
Last week was an interesting one, we sold over 100 Machinery and Equipment items. Selling this many items would normally be a-much-better-than-average-week in terms of dollars. But because there was a lot of smaller items in this total, it turned out to be more like a par week.
So on the Machinery and Equipment front, the trends included Air Seeders, Fuel Tanks, Spreaders, Tractors, GPS Equipment, Tipper Trailers (hard to find), and Field/Super Bins.
See five items that sold this week below.
Don't forget to check out our 10 years in business celebration competition. You go into the draw each time you list something during the month of March, so keep those listings coming. See more info here.
Jack has his Livestock report below.
The market for Grain is volatile, and Seed is in demand.
Feed Barley sold at $315 a tonne, Beans at $400 (No 3) & $440 a tonne, Lupins at $465 a tonne, Peas made $380 a tonne and Feed Oats at $220 a tonne.
On the Seed front, we sold Oats in a range of $410 to $800 a tonne, Vetch in a range of $600 to $725 a tonne, Wheat in a range of $380 to $650 a tonne. Clover seed sold for $3/kg, Italian Ryegrass at $2.80/kg, and Canola Seed for $3.20/kg.
All prices are ex Farm.

This is what the sales guys said happened this week:
Shane said - Apart from the Hay job lifting, as mentioned in my Hay report, we also see a demand for Feed Grain. Many factors are affecting this, but buyers are nervous as some of the predicted pricing if it happens, will be an issue moving forward for them. In the Feed Barley market, we are seeing some reluctance in selling and also hearing that there are shortages. In general, the whole Grain industry seems very volatile atm, and obviously, this is affecting supply and demand..
Paul said - This past fortnight has seen things continue to shift, With the focus well and truly on Cropping, with Airseeders and Groupers being very popular. Seed interest has also spiked as people start to get organised. The Machinery Job has been white-hot for a while now and, in my opinion, will stay that way until the market is eventually skun out or the demand is met with New Machinery.
Mike said - We have been staying out in Western Queensland for the last couple of weeks. We are in Thargomindah until Saturday, then moving on through to Quilpie and onto Charleville in the next three weeks. If anyone would like to catch up or thinking of listing any Machinery, give me a call, and I might be able to visit.
This week, there has been a fair variety of sales ranging from Grain, Hay, Pasture Seed, up to the larger Air Seeders with one or two Headers sales thrown in.
On the weather front, there has been 350 mm in the last 10 days across the inner Darling Downs, further West 100 to 200 mm East of St George. West to Cunnamulla, there seems to be a good body of feed.
Keep those listings coming and see what else sold here.
