They have to want to win them back - Yep, according to our feedback, the NFF has left the Farmer behind. We got a lot of replies on our NFF Conference Report Card story we did last week. I have gone through them all, and we have replied back. My thinking is that the NFF isn't going to want to hear this, but then the positive person in me is thinking perhaps the new hierarchy would want to hear what Farmers think. And for the record, many of the people are like me, non-members, but we also had members respond. Here are the findings….

Pretty much all of the feedback from Farmers was that they, the NFF, weren't batting for the grassroots Farmer anymore. Some said they have almost become irrelevant. A few people said they were just another political party playing politics like they do in Canberra. So, if they are supposed to be representing Farmers, our people are saying the opposite.

Perhaps they have morphed into a beast that has become irreversible. Perhaps it would be better to start all over again. Are they doing now what they were put on this earth to do? I'd probably say that their principles have changed. Are they going to listen? That's up to them. Are they going to become more irrelevant? Perhaps not to whom they currently represent, but to Farmers, yes. How do they win the Farmers back? They have to want to win them back.

As Farmers, I think we want a strong Farmer body representing us against the growing anti-Farming movement, which includes all anti-Farming people, anti-Farming governments, anti-Farming Banks and other Corporates that think and act this way. Let's see what unfolds. Thanks to those who responded. Reply to dwaind@farmtender.com.au
