Talent in Ag - We hear Football recruiters and coaches talk about talent and how it's the most important thing to winning the ultimate prize. This, on the back of our potential pie-in-the-sky recruitment of the talented John Howard to the Ag space, we got thinking about how many talented people are out there in Ag. 

Identifying talent is a subjective thing and means different things to different people. But having talent in your organisation is essential if you want to move forward.

I am on leave at the moment (still doing the "daily"), and during this time off, Paula and I went to visit a young Farmer in Southern Victoria, Sam Van Assche. Sam, who is half our age, blew our minds as to what he and his wife (Sam, too) are up to. 

Sam is a next-level talent whose thirst for information is insatiable. He combines hard (smart) work with innovative next-level business models, a desire to achieve, an ability to find markets above the commodity level, and an above-average financial literacy. This is a talent package rarely seen in Ag. We will go deep in an interview with Sam at our FarmTender2024 - Business of Farming event on March 1 2024. Don't miss this one.
