Lamb numbers increased slightly to 20,400. All the usual buying group were present with the return of a northern exporter, but not all were operating fully and some only filling small orders. The market opened very strong on the heavy export lambs, once shape and quality dropped away bidding became very erratic as secondary lambs were heavily discounted. Store buyers were not as active with store lambs to $8 cheaper. Light and Medium trade ended to $6 to $10 softer, heavy trade sold firm to $2 back while the secondaries were to $10 cheaper. Heavy export lambs sold to $268/head gaining $5 to $14/head.

Lambs back to the paddock under 18kg selling from $30 to $128, and lambs over 18kg made from $116 to $136/head. Lambs to the trade to suit MK orders under 18kg sold from $95 to $117, Lambs 18-22kg, sold from $125 to $151, Lambs 22-24kg, sold from $146 to $174, Lambs 24-26kg made from $153 to $191/head. Export 26 to 30kg sold from $182 to $217 and 30kg and over made $219 to $268/head. Most lambs averaged between 600c to 700c/kg.

Sheep numbers slipped to 3,500, quality was again plain to very good. Not all buyers operated with some sitting out watching on in a strong market over most categories, to be $10 to $25/head dearer and in places, although there were still sales of very light sheep selling under $10/head. Merino wethers selling from $55 to $124/head. Merino ewes sold from $47 to $140 and heavy crossbred mutton sold from $114 to $159/head.
