Lamb numbers increased to 27,500 penned. Quality improved over the lightweight categories, this reflected in the prices although there was still a range from plain to excellent. Light lambs to the trade sold to $5 to $12 dearer, while the store lambs and secondary types sold to $6 cheaper. Medium and heavy trade sold dearer for the better quality well finished lambs, while the secondary and lambs needing finish sold cheaper to be overall $8 softer. Heavy export lambs sold to a top of $178/head mostly selling firm.
Lambs back to the paddock made $12 to $88 for the lighter weights and $74 to $109 for lambs over 18kg cwt.
