Reinventing the Big Bud Tractor - It's been hailed as the return to simple and has Tractor enthusiasts are in ruptures. We wrote a similar article a few months ago for the Australian equivalent titled "Who's going to build the next Waltanna?". In this day and age where new technology, gadgets and digital screens in Farm Machinery is overwhelming the Farmer. Many are looking for a return to something more simple. Enter the new Big Bud.
They stopped making them in 1991. Apparently, post-1991, they have been rebuilding old Big Buds by only using the Frame and replacing it with off-the-shelf parts. Today they are building new Big Buds with a heavy-duty inch-and-a-half thick steel plate frame with a new Agco Cab and Caterpillar off-the-shelf parts.
Right-to-repair enthusiasts are wrapped in the reinvention of the Big Bud. The new big Bids Buds will be able to accommodate any GPS or Auto Steering branded unit. And they will be super simple to fix and maintain.
They intend to sell 10 new version 700hp models by the end of 2023.
They will be custom-built to the Farmer's specific needs and can be pushed out to a whopping 950hp. The new models will weigh in from 27 to 32 tonnes, depending on the specifications, and the 3 fuel tanks will hold 2200 litres of fuel.
