Lamb numbers increased to 32,682 penned. Light lambs ranging from plain to very good. Trade and heavy lambs were plain to excellent with several pens of extra heavy lambs presenting in exceptional condition. All the usual buyers were present, the market opened stronger on the light store and trade lambs to a week ago then eased slightly. The sale gained more momentum midway through and remained stronger through to the end of the lamb sale. Light store lambs gained $10 to $15, light and medium trade sold to $5 better and heavy trade gained $4 to $6/head. Heavy export sold to a top of $260 and gaining $5 to $10/head.

Lambs back to the paddock sold from $28 to $129 and lambs to feed on made from $115 to $136/head. Light trade lambs under 18kg to suit MK orders sold from $75 to $136/head. Trade lambs 18 to 22kg sold from $124 to $152, lambs 22 to 26kg sold $148 to $180/head to have a wide average range of 630c to 675c/kg cwt. Heavy export lambs 26 to 30kg made from $178 to $215 and over 30kg sold from $204 to $260/head with an average of 650c to 670c/kg cwt. Hoggets sold from $29 to $105/head for the crossbreds and Merino’s sold from $36 to $109/head.

Mutton numbers also gained with 10,538 yarded. Quality was plain to good and dropped away from the last yarding a week ago. The market opened softer and became erratic and difficult to follow at times. Merino wethers sold from $32 to $110, selling $6 to $12/head cheaper. Merino Ewes made from $23 to $100, slipping $4 to $8/head and the heavy Crossbred mutton made from $26 to $117, selling from $4 to $10/head cheaper, with the majority of the mutton averaging from 270c to 290c/kg cwt.
