Lamb numbers dropped to the lowest for the year with 14,290 penned. Heavy export lambs and some trade weight lambs off supplementary feed presented in excellent condition. Quality slipped away quickly with a large portion of the yarding secondary and light plainer types ranging from plain to good. Not all the usual buying group attended and not all were active in a mostly cheaper market. Light store and trade lambs were to $20 cheaper, medium trade had the best results for the really neat well finished lambs in short skins sold dearer in places, with isolated sales to $158/head, while the secondary types were to $10/head cheaper. Heavy trade were to $6 softer and heavy export sold to $10 cheaper. Across the yarding, the better-quality well finished lambs averaged from 440c to 520/kg cwt.

Lambs back to the paddock selling from $20 to $129/head. Lambs to the trade to suit MK orders under 18kg sold from $18 to $88, Lambs 18-22kg, sold from $74 to $124, Lambs 22-24kg, sold from $109 to $158, Lambs 24-26kg made from $121 to $150/head. Export 26 to 30kg sold from $132 to $155 and 30kg and over made $148 to $169/head.

Sheep numbers increased to 5,880 yarded. The quality was plain to very good. The market opened softer, to be $20/head cheaper in most categories. Heavy Merino wethers made from $72 to $83, Merino ewes $28 to $96 and heavy cross bread mutton from $65 to $105/head.
