The market saw a significant surge in numbers, driven by higher prices the previous sale. The quality of the offering ranged from very good to fair. While not all domestic buyers managed to make it to the sale, prices remained strong throughout and gained momentum as it progressed. Supermarkets and major export companies actively bid for well-finished lambs. The market saw lambs transported from distant locations, including Longreach in Queensland, Broken Hill, and Hay in the Riverina. While other lambs came from Cooma and the coast of NSW

The demand for new season lambs in the trade market remained solid, consistently selling between 500c and 525c/kg and averaging $4 lower. Young lambs weighing between 21 and 24kg were sold within the range of $110 to $135. However, the sale of old trade lambs faced less competition from buyers, resulting in weak demand. Lambs weighing between 22kg to 26kg ranged from $62 to $127/head. Merino lambs experienced weaker demand overall, resulting in price declines of $10/head. Merino lamb ranged from $74 to $112/head. New season store lambs attracted competition from multiple states, with well-bred types seeing a $5 lift and reaching a top price of $114.

In the heavy export market, all major companies were active in purchasing both young and heavy old lambs. Young lambs between 26kg and 30kg were sold at prices ranging from $142 to $152/head. It's worth noting that these prices were lower than in the previous market due to less weight. For lambs weighing over 30kg, sold from $152 to $179.40. Old lambs were sold within the wide price range of $116 to $170/head, with an average price of 425c to 502c/kg cwt.

Mutton numbers increased significantly, and the quality varied between outstanding and fair. Heavy ewe mutton faced weak competition resulting in price falls of $53 and more to average 98c to 115c/kg cwt. Big Merino wethers dipped $62 per head to average 117c/kg cwt. Trade sheep sold between 88c and 104c/kg cwt
