Lamb numbers remained similar with 11,819 yarded. Quality was very good over the lambs off supplementary feed, while the quality dropped away quickly across the secondary types in woolly skins, lacking any shape and finish. A smaller field of buyers were present and not all were active in another softer market. Secondary lighter lambs under 18kg selling from $12 to $20/head cheaper. Medium and heavy trade to $6 softer. Extra heavy export lambs sold to a top of $152, to be $4 to $8 cheaper. A few runs of new season lambs gained the most interest selling to restockers under 20kg from $30 to $87/head and processors paid $69 to $114 for lambs ranging from 18 to 24kg. A line of dorper lambs were presented in good condition but advertised with seed, buyers were not willing to take the risk and sold up to $7/head.

Store lambs back to the paddock selling from $14 to $64/head. Lambs to the trade to suit MK orders under 18kg sold from $10 to $70/head. Lambs 18-22kg, sold from $56 to $98, Lambs 23-26kg, made from $103 to $118/head. Export 27 to 30kg sold from $114 to $130 and 30kg and over made $134 to $152/head, most of the better quality lambs averaging 400c to 430c/kg cwt.

Sheep numbers softened to 3,300 penned, quality was mixed in a cheaper market to a week ago. Light mutton made from $15 to $39/head. Merino wethers made from $25 to $60. Merino ewes $26 to $55, and heavy crossbred mutton from $43 to $69, with most weights and grades slipping to $10/head.
