It's the most honourable thing in Ag - I have this belief that if you are doing business through online platforms like ours, and if you are dodgy or try to manipulate the situation, you are more than likely to get found out. As opposed to the dodgy guy who operates within a Farming district and does some dodgy deals, gets found out and moves on to the next spot, and repeats the process. The audience is larger online compared to a local community, and if you don't do the right thing, you will, more than likely, get found out.
I'd like to think that we (Farm Tender) now have a pretty good understanding of what and who looks dodgy. We can pretty much spot if something doesn't smell right, and if we're not sure, we suspend their account until we find out otherwise.
In Agriculture, if you say it's XYZ, and it turns out that it's ABC, then you are going to lose trust with people real quick. The most honourable thing in Ag is to be trusted. I reckon about 95 percent of the people we deal with do the right thing and can be classed as honourable. That's a pretty high percentage. Others might argue that that's a bit high.
If you're a young bloke in Ag and you have deliberately manipulated situations to suit yourself, and you know it's the wrong thing to do, make sure you stop right now and change your ways. You will find it hard to do business in this industry if you keep going down that track.
