It's still possible folks - We wrote the other day about how in the past, some Farmers managed to pay off their Land with one season of production. I thought it was impossible in this day and age, but a Farm Consultant who also owns Farming Land was telling me the process is still alive and kicking in parts of South Australia.

He said that last Harvest, Cereal yields of 2.5 to 3 tonnes/ha on Country that was bought for $350 to $400 an acre in the Ceduna area would have paid for the Land in one hit.

A client of his on the Eyre Peninsula (EP), whose biggest Crop was previously 7,000 tonnes of Grain, last year Harvested 16,000 tonnes, which is game-changing, and paid a few bills, I'm sure.

Another client bought Land in the EP for $750 in 2021. They had a 2 t/ha Crop that year and a 3.9t/ha Crop in 2022. There are other stories with similar results in these areas of SA. My closed mind was thinking there was no more Land available at $2000/ac or less that could be Cropped. I love it when people reply and point out that "what you said wouldn't happen, actually happened over here". Keep on keeping me on my toes guys…
