At Farm Tender, we have created a new category called "Zero Commission Livestock Selling". We have only ever had limited success in the past with Livestock as a category.
However, many of our customers that buy and sell Grain, Hay, Machinery, Trucks, etc, also have Livestock, so it only makes sense that we try and improve our Livestock component. We have over 66,000 Farmer members, so we have no trouble getting eyeballs on
So from the 1st of May, we changed 2 things.
1) We made it so it's free to sell for the seller, and we built our fees into what the buyer pays.
Part of the reason for doing this is to get more Agents involved. If you have a trusted Agent, let them know it's now free to sell on Farm Tender. The aim is to attract more listings, bringing more buyers to the platform.
2) We have shifted from a percentage fee to a fixed price per head buyers fee model. See the buyer fees here.
We went to a per-head fee structure because we wanted to keep things simple and have the buyer know exactly what they are paying, exactly what the buyer's fee is, and exactly what the seller listed them for.
Next time you or your Agent are looking to sell Livestock, try Farm Tender as a "Zero Commission Livestock Selling" option.
We also have the ability to do the payment through us. We invoice the buyer, on behalf of the seller and take the funds into our trust account and distribute them to the buyer once both parties are happy.
