Yarding: 59,021

Lamb supply remained similar to a week ago with 45,432 penned. Quality was mostly very good, with a smaller portion of the yarding ranging from plain to good. All the usual buyers attended and most were operating in a market that opened firm to a week ago, then gained intensity as the sale progressed. Light lambs to the trade sold to $5 better, store lambs were $4 to $7/head dearer. Well covered medium and heavy trade lambs were in high demanded and gained to $12/head. Heavy export lambs were in limited supply causing the bidding to intensify, with lambs over 26/kg selling $12 to $20/head stronger.

Lambs back to the paddock made $20 to $100 for the lighter weights and $84 to $111/head for lambs over 18kg cwt. Light lambs to the trade to suit MK orders, sold from $41 to $96/head. Trade lambs 18 to 22kg sold from $85 to $129, Lambs 22 to 26kg made from $108 to $163/head, with a range of 490c to 550c/kg cwt. Export lambs over 26kg sold from $151 to $179/head, averaging between 570c to 590c/kg cwt.

Sheep numbers increased to 13,589, quality ranged from plain to very good. A smaller field of buyers on the rail and not all were operating in a stronger market across the yarding. Merino wethers selling between $33 to $70, gaining $5 to $15/head. Merino ewes with long skins gained the most interest selling from $28 to $70, to be $11 to $15/head dearer and more in places. Heavy Crossbred ewes sold from $45 to $72, selling to $15/head stronger and heavy crossbred wethers sold from $40 to $69/head. The lightweight mutton made from $28 to $42, selling to $10/head better.
