Go Go Griffith (part 2) - We had some good responses to part 1 from people who have lived in Griffith at some point in time and loved it. They all nailed what makes it such a special place, and the consensus was the area's diversity.

Everything is about diversity, from the people that live there to the Agricultural enterprises and right through to the local businesses that call the Griffith area home. It's an entrepreneurial place where people are pro-business and not afraid to give something a go. It's a bit like Mildura in that it's an economy of its own. Self-sufficient. One person said its isolation meant that it had been "undiscovered by many".

The main street is Banna Avenue, and it would have to be one of the longest shopping strips in country Australia. On the south side, where most of the retailers are situated, I only counted one vacant Shop.

But Griffith is quickly outgrowing itself. Infrastructure is being pushed to the limit, and according to a few of the locals, some cracks are starting to appear. But fear not, it's one of those good problems to have, and I'm sure there are enough smart people around to turn it into something positive. Do yourself a favour, take a trip and have a look for yourself.
