Front foot stuff - Happy new financial year. Boy, has the first half of the year gone quick. How's it been for you?

We wrote a daily recently about how a progressive NSW Farmer sends all his financial information (good, bad and anything in between) to their bank on a monthly basis. They call it over-reporting, and the banks love it. Read about it here.

We call this type of action front foot stuff. A front foot action would be the things you do that are usually above and beyond what anyone else does. I was thinking about this over the weekend, and an issue that comes up with Farmer's is that they are pretty casual when it comes to having the latest financials done. I mean, some don't get them done until 6, 8, 10 months later. In this day and age when anything involving capital, reporting or lending usually requires the latest set of financials and if they are not done, you can miss out on opportunities.

I know with our business, we will have everything to the accountant by the end of this week. So my suggestion is that you make a call to your accountant, kindly asking if you can jump the queue and get your 22/23 financials done asap. Ask them to get a list to you of the things they require. Jump on the front foot. You never know where it might take you.
