Description

"ERA NURSERIES" NATIVE TREE & SHRUB EXPERTS

Operating in the Western District of Victoria for over 20 years.

Ray White Rural Victoria is pleased to present Eco Reafforestation Australia Pty Ltd trading as ERA Nurseries ('ERA' or 'Business') located in Hamilton, Western Victoria.

ERA operates a modern 'World-Class' Nursery facility located on a 4 Ha* (10 acre*) site on the southern boundary of Hamilton in the Western District of Victoria. The land was purchased in late 2003 as a 'Greenfield's site and current infrastructure including buildings, water reticulation and pumping facilities, dams, plants and equipment and other site works pertaining to its current use have been developed since.

ERA is Australia's leading producer of bio-active leptospermum seedlings since 2015 and is strategically located for access to key markets, between Melbourne and Adelaide. Hamilton is 3 hours to Melbourne, 5 hours to Adelaide, 1 hour to Victoria's south-west coast, 1 hour to the Southern Grampians.

ERA has a secure water supply comprising innovative on-site rain harvesting and storage as well as a backup connection to mains water.

The ERA business generates avg. gross revenue of 850k annually, with a cash profit surplus of 385k.

ERA STOCKS A WIDE RANGE OF LOW-COST, HIGH-QUALITY ITEMS INCLUDING:
• Tube stock / Revegetation seedlings
• Advanced trees / Semi advanced ornamental trees
• Potted lines / Shrubs / Grasses
• Competitively priced tree guards and associated tree care merchandise such as stakes and mulch mats.

KEY FEATURES INCLUDE:
• Business name and brand (including all artwork for brand & promotional material).
• Secure and established base of employees.
• Latest Air-Vacuum and Robotic seeding transplant equipment.
• Myrtle Rust accreditation (ICA-42).
• Treated water from the reed bed flows to a storage dam that holds 5 to 6 megalitres.
• Online store via www.eranurseries.com.au
• Major 'in-house' transport and logistics capability delivering large volumes of plant material over long distances and usually within stringent time frames.
• Systems and procedure manuals.

ERA also provides advice on all aspects of rural, commercial and residential vegetation planning, site preparation, establishment and management including farm planning and species selection. The retail sales centre is now open weekdays from 9am to 5pm.

The current site has a capacity for 5M seedlings* which is well short of recent output of around 3M seedlings*. Other additional species suited to revegetation plantations could be produced on site. A number of options exist to increase production capacity through expanding the physical footprint.

The current owners of ERA have reached retiring age and are now seeking a buyer for the business and freehold. Further specific information can be made available for qualified parties.

Businesses of this caliber rarely present themselves to the market, with astute investors immediately recognising the unique characteristics that make "ERA Nurseries" a flagship opportunity.

*Denotes approximately.

The owners are retiring after a couple of decades in the business.

The numbers- consistent turnover of 850k with plenty of growth potential and capacity within existing infrastructure.
Consistent EBITDA of 386k annually (and after managers wages).

The business includes the 10 acre commercial site in Hamilton (owners estimated value of 1.2M), plant and equipment (owners estimated value of 400k) and the business (Ag Advisories estimate of value of circa. 600k).

Asking price on a ‘Walk in Walk out basis’ of 2.2M plus inventory and work in progress at cost.

This is a genuine business, and is a good opportunity for someone looking to do something different- not hard to sell the small farm and pick up a business turning $7,000- $8,000 profit per week.

“The Principal is very passionate about the business, and is willing to stay on for 12 months to train the incumbent and transition the goodwill”
