Video - Teys Australia to expand its tech saavy Cattle hide processing plant

Teys Australia was recently granted $267,406 from the federal government towards the expansion of our Murgon cattle hide processing plant. This proposed expansion will produce a number of benefits for the economy and the local community. In addition to direct employment opportunities, this project will stimulate increased economic activity and produce important macro benefits for the broader community.

Teys is committed to encouraging diversity in our business and pride ourselves on being an equal opportunity employer, where preference is placed on local job seekers so that we can support the communities in which we operate. Immediate local employment opportunities (for the development and construction of this expansion project) will include 6 semi-skilled and qualified trades roles such as fitters, welders, concreters and electricians. Once the expansions are complete, increased production will generate a further 12 to 15 full-time direct employment opportunities for unskilled and semi-skilled WBB workers.

This expansion is expected to take between 4-6 months. Once complete, the site’s production (which currently processes about 20,000 hides per week) will increase by 10 to 20 percent.
