There won’t be a spare seat in sight at SMARTBEEF 2017 next week, with registrations to the event being sold out.
“We are so pleased that the program we put forward has resonated with the feedlot and beef sector to the point that registrations to SMARTBEEF have actually been over-subscribed.” said Australian Lot Feeders’ Association (ALFA)President Tess Herbert.
SMARTBEEF 2017 as an important platform to deliver information and skills development as well as fostering innovation across the whole beef supply chain. This year the program has been tailored to be of interest to participants across the value chain, including both grass-fed cattle producers and processors and exporters of the beef products.
Participants will hear from industry experts, listen to case studies on successful operations and have the opportunity to talk with people who are at the cutting edge of technical innovation.
“The focus of this year’s conference is on being smart in the use of business tools and data, and thinking about how they can be used to maximise sustainability and profitability in our sector.” said Ms Herbert.
As well as hearing from an excellent selection of speakers, delegates will have the opportunity to visit 20 exhibitors who will bring a range of technologies, services and products to life, demonstrating their application to feedlots and beef production. These will range from animal health and management products, grazing software, livestock equipment and financial services.
“ALFA looks forward to welcoming over 300 delegates from across the beef supply chain to Armidale next week and to hearing the discussions and ideas that come out of the conference.” said Ms Herbert.

SMARTBEEF 2017 will be held at the University of New England, Armidale, 1 – 3 November 2017. It will include a tour of Sundown Pastoral, as well as demonstrations of new technologies and products.
