Lamb supply increased to 13,302 yarded. The quality was very good with over half the yarding new season young lambs. Most of the usual buying group attended, but not all were active in a strong market with increases from $6 to $14/head across the yarding. Young lambs sold to a top of $201 and old season lambs sold to a top of $237/head.
Feeders and restockers were active today with young lambs back to the paddock under 18kg sold from $98 to $151 while 18kg and over sold from $144 to $165/head. Young lambs to the trade 18 to 22kg sold from $150 to $179, 22 to 24kg sold from $172 to $194 and 24 to 26kgsold from $188 to $201/head with a range of 738c to 858c, to average 790c/kg cwt.
Old season lambs to the trade 18 to 22kg sold from $130 to $157/head. Lambs 22 to 24kg sold from $156 to $174/head. Lambs 24 to 26kgsold from $174 to $189/head. Export 4 score heavy 26 to 30kg lambs sold from $175 to $228/head, while 30kg and over lambs sold from$206 to $237/head, with a range of 643c to 750c to average 680c/kg cwt.
Sheep supply also increased to 7,844 yarded with excellent quality runs of merino mutton offered across the market. Extra competition from export buyers caused the market to increase up to $16/head in places. Heavy Merino ewes sold from $128 to $160/head, to average around540c/kg cwt. Heavy crossbred ewes made from $120 to $180/head, to average 480c/kg cwt. Heavy Merino wethers sold from $131 to$160/head to average around 540c/kg cwt. Rams sold to $120/head.
