Rainfall expected this week

 QLD:
Widespread thunderstorms are likely for much of NSW, VIC, eastern and northern SA, and inland far southern QLD, more numerous in the afternoon and evening. In a number of places, storms are likely to cause damaging winds, large hail and heavy rainfall leading to some flash flooding mainly in the afternoon and evening. However this risk will be much lower in areas with pre-existing thick cloud cover and rainfall.
Localised clusters of thunderstorms are possible for some parts of the northeastern NT, far western QLD, and inland southern QLD with the main peak in the afternoon and evening.

NSW:
Widespread showers/Rain areas (mostly northern parts) and some thunderstorms activity is for much of NSW, more numerous in the afternoon and evening. In a number of places, storms are likely to cause damaging winds, large hail and heavy rainfall leading to some flash flooding mainly in the afternoon and evening. However this risk will be much lower in areas with pre-existing thick cloud cover and rainfall.
There is the LOW risk of inland thunderstorms eventually reaching a small minority of places along the central and southern NSW coast by overnight tonight or early Monday.

VIC:
Showers and some thunderstorm activity are likely for much VIC as a trough moves across the state, more numerous in the afternoon and evening. In a number of places, storms are likely to cause damaging winds, large hail and and heavy rainfall is possible, however this risk will be much lower in areas with pre-existing thick cloud cover and rainfall.

TAS:
There is the outside chance of some locations in TAS experiencing non-severe thunderstorms later on Sunday or early Monday, mostly over the Bass Strait islands.

SA:
Showers and some thunderstorms are likely for much of eastern and northern SA, more numerous in the afternoon and evening. In a number of places, storms are likely to cause damaging winds, large hail and heavy rainfall in the afternoon and evening. However this risk will be much lower in areas with pre-existing thick cloud cover and rainfall.

NT:
Widespread thunderstorms are likely for northeastern WA as well as the western and southern NT, more numerous in the afternoon and evening. In some places, storms could cause damaging wind gusts.
Localised clusters of thunderstorms are possible for some parts of the northeastern NT, far western QLD, and inland southern QLD with the main peak in the afternoon and evening.

WA:
Widespread thunderstorms are likely for northeastern WA as well as the western and southern NT, more numerous in the afternoon and evening. In some places, storms could cause damaging wind gusts.
