Lamb supply increased to 9,232 yarded, the quality was plain to very good, there was not a lot of weight offered with over half the yarding young lambs. Not all the usual buying group attended, but the competition was strong across all weight and categories to see an increase of$8 to $14/head on last weeks levels. Young lambs sold to a top of $198/head and Old lambs sold to a top of $211/head.
Feeders and restockers were active today with young lambs back to the paddock under 18kg, sold from $60 to $119 and 18 to 22kg sold from $127 to $164/head. Young lambs to the trade 18 to 22kg, sold from $150 to $175, while 22 to 24kg, sold from $170 to $197 and 24 to 26kg, sold from $183 to $198/head with a range from 724c to 825c, to average 765c/kg cwt.
Old lambs to the trade 18 to 22kg sold from $120 to $152/head. Lambs 22 to 24kg sold from $140 to $178/head, ranging from 579c to 721c,to average 680c/kg cwt. Lambs 24 to 26kg sold from $159 to $186/head, to average 790c/kg cwt. Export 4 score heavy 26 to 30kg lambs sold from $183 to $199 and 30kg and over lambs sold from $202 to $211/head.
Sheep supply decreased to 4,983, buyers were selective causing the market to be $5 to $12/head easier in places. Good quality runs of Merino wethers offered. Heavy Merino ewes sold from $95 to $164/head, to average 515c/kg cwt. Restockers paid from $126 to $129/head.Crossbred ewes sold from $87 to $188/head, to average 470c/kg cwt.
