Heavy Lambs $10-$15 easier at Wagga Wagga

Numbers increased this sale with mutton showing the biggest change. Lamb quality was mixed with some good runs of well finished grain assisted lambs offered along with the plainer types. Heavy and extra heavy weight lambs were well supplied. The usual buyers were present and competing in a cheaper market.

Trade weight new season lambs sold from $127 to $155/head. Heavy lambs sold from $150 to $168/head. Store lambs attracted strong competition to sell from $100 to $135/head. Trade weights were $10 easier with prices from $123 to $149/head. Heavy and extra heavy weight lambs were $10 to $15 easier. Heavy lambs sold from $145 to $168 and extra heavy weights received from $161 to $236/head. Carcase prices averaged from 620c to 640c/kg cwt.

Light old lambs sold from $115 to $126/head.

Mutton quality was very mixed with some good runs of heavy sheep offered along with the lighter types. Merinos made up the majority of the offering and ewes sold from $99 to $135/head. Crossbred ewes received from $99 to $164/head. Merino wethers reached $142/head.
