Ag Innovator John Richards recieves OAM

Goldacres founder John (Stick) Richards recently received an OAM (Order of Australia Medal) for his outstanding service to the manufacturing sector.

John is a true Ag innovator and entrepreneur having started his Goldacres manufacturing business from his Central Victorian home town St Arnaud after declaring himself a broken down used car salesman at the age of 40. Goldacres is now based in Ballarat.

Goldacres is now a leading manufacturer of spray equipment and has competed strongly with the likes of John Deere, Hardi, Case IH, Croplands and multiple others to stake a strong claim in the ultra-competitive self-propelled and tow behind sprayer market.

John also has a great passion for horse racing, having owned, bred and raced horse for decades. John was rewarded for his persistence by being a major part owner of 2015 Melbourne Cup winner Prince of Penzance

We might try and round him up for an interview one day. Watch this space.

Well done John Richards, a well-deserved honour.
