Check out our latest Hay Report here, hot off the keyboard last night.
It was a strong finish to last week, and it's been an equally strong start to this week. We have certainly shaken off those post-financial year blues where it went a little quiet for 10 or so days.
The big story on the sales front is Urea. At times Machinery and Equipment dominate the sales spreadsheets, at other times, it can be Hay, but the last 3 weeks have belonged to Urea and Fertiliser.
We had a huge response to one of our "daily" emails last week, where we added nearly 200 new subscribers to the Monday Fert price text. If you want to join, text Ellen on 0418 137 224 and type "Fert text please," and she will add you to the list.
We have more than doubled our listings since we released the Toyota Campaign on July 1. This, and the advent of the "daily" newsletter emails, has dramatically lifted our daily visitor numbers, which is good news for those selling stuff. It means more eyeballs and hopefully more inquiry.
The overall trends have been Urea, Small Farm Trucks with Stockcrates, Vetch Hay, Toyota Utes, Silos, Augers, Tractors, Straw, CS Liquid Products, Flat Top Trailers, Sheep Feeders and New Munro Post Drivers.
We have Farmers in parts of Victoria and South Australia that would like an inch of rain. For the Mallee areas, the upcoming Speed Field Days can, at times, be a line-in-the-sand period. If you are dry then, things can start going backwards, if you have plenty of moisture at that time, you are looking at a decent Crop. Let's hope those that need a drop can get it soon.
On the Grain front, we sold Feed Barley for $375 a tonne, Feed Oats at $250 a tonne, Beans at $405 a tonne, Feed Wheat at $350 a tonne, and Corn at $480 a tonne
All prices are ex Farm.

This is what the sales guys said happened this week:
Shane said - A bit of a run on Livestock Equipment this week with Stock Crates and Feeders popular. Hearing that some areas in VIC/SA are looking for some rain with the recent frosts drying up a lot of paddocks, so fingers crossed, we will see some soon.
Paul said - The Last week has seen more Machinery tick over with Tractors, Trailers, Tillage gear, and a Chaser Bin move along with a marginal uptick on Hay and Silage. We are getting quite a few quality listings on the site. With options for buyers continuing to dwindle, quality items are still moving fairly quickly. So again, if you see something you need, my advice is to act now as there is every chance someone else is looking at it.
Mike said - It's a very mixed bag of what is selling this week. There are no clear signs yet of what is happening throughout the East Coast, with oodles of rain in the North, to having areas in the South needing more rain.
The main things that sold this week were Tillage Equipment, Trucks, Headers, Spreaders, Tractors, and Livestock Handling Equipment.

Keep those listings coming and see what else sold here.
End of message.
