Check out last week's Hay Report here.
As I wrote in the lead story above, it's interesting times, and it will be fascinating watching how the next couple of years play out.
Spare Parts are a topic of conversation, and it's a frustrating conversation for Farmers. More than ever, we are seeing wanted ads for Parts, Used Tyres, things like Tynes, Presswheels and other bits and pieces. Keep an eye on these wanted ads. You never know what you might be able to sell.
I wrote a piece last week about how Farmers can cash in on the current Farm Machinery and Equipment boom. Check it out here.
It's has been a little bit quieter on the Machinery front over the last 7 days, but the sales guys tell me they have plenty of stuff swinging. We are seeing a bit of extra demand for Hay, Grain and Seed.
The trends in Machinery and Equipment include Tipper Trailers (hard to find), Scarifiers, Boomsprays, Power Harrows, Air Seeder Carts, Air Seeder Bars, Combines, Drills, Machinery Parts and Accessories.
Mike sold this 12,000 Litre Simplicity Air Cart for the listed price.
Jack will be back next week with his Livestock Report.
As for Grain, we sold Feed Barley at $265, $285 and $290 a tonne, Bean at $400 (2nds), $430 and $440 a tonne, Lupins at $465 a tonne, and Feed Oats at $220 a tonne.
On the Seed front, we sold Oats in a range of $390 to $600 a tonne, Vetch in a range of $600 to $725 a tonne, Wheat in a range of $380 to $450 a tonne.
All prices are ex Farm.

This is what the sales guys said happened this week:
Paul said - This week has seen similar trends with Machinery. We are seeing an uptake of Grain and Seed leading into Sowing.
I have also heard some horror type stories of people waiting on the arrival of new Machinery. It seems the common theme is a 12-18 months wait on anything being ordered now. With quite a few people seeing delivery dates getting pushed back on early ordered gear. If you are looking for Machinery, the best advice is be ready to act as things arent hanging around if they are in good nick and on the money.
Mike said - We have been staying out in Western Queensland for the last couple of weeks. We are in Cunnamulla until Saturday, then moving on through to Thargomindah, Quilpie and onto Charleville in the next four weeks. If anyone would like to catch up, give me a call, or if you are thinking of listing any Machinery, I might be able to visit.
There has been a fair variety of sales this week, ranging from Grain, Hay, Pasture Seed all the way up to the bigger gear like Trucks and Air Seeders. The second-hand Machinery might tighten up towards the end of the year as the inability to source new Machinery is becoming more prevalent.
On the weather front, there has been 350 mm in the last 10 days across the inner Darling Downs, further West, 100 to 200 mm east of St George. West to Cunnamulla, there seems to be a good body of feed.
If anyone sees our Rig (below) in their travels, please say g'day.
