It was good to see last week get back to some normality as far as sales were concerned.

For the record, we will have our first Hay report for 2022 next week. There is a little bit more demand for Hay as parts of Tassie, Victoria, SA, and Queensland have dried out a lot in the last 8 weeks.

The trends for Machinery and Equipment have changed dramatically from the end of 2021 where Harvest Gear dominated the Spreadsheets. The changing of the guard includes Boomsprays, Mixer Wagons, Stock Crates, Grain Bag Outloaders, Utes, Tractors and Speed Tillers.

Shane sold this Sonic Ultra 10,000 Litre x 45.5 Metre Tow Behind Boomspray for the listed price. It went from WA to Central NSW.

On the grain front, we sold Barley for $225 and $220 a tonne, Wharton Peas for $480 a tonne, Beans for $410 and $430 a tonne and Feed Oats for $205 and $220 a tonne. All prices are ex Farm.

This is what the sales guys said happened this week:

Shane said - Busy start to the new year with the focus on the up and coming Sowing season along with Weed Spraying. We are seeing a lot of Boomsprays selling with Goldacres the most popular brand. Seeing some Grain and Hay move which is great, and Kelpie Pups are running hot at the moment with plenty of enquiries and sales for the Breeders.

Paul said - This week, I have spoken to quite a few people who are still in the midst of their Harvest. Whether it's weather or breakdown related, this Harvest has been slow for many. While no one is complaining as prices are red hot, many are starting to tire and are looking forward to the finish line! Hoping everyone had a safe and enjoyable Christmas and New Year. Let's hope we have another solid year in the Ag world!

Mike said - With all rain through New South Wales and Queensland and the inability to source Chemical, has forced some Producers back to Offset Discs and Scarifiers to help alleviate their Weed issues. Spray Rigs are still very popular down south. Inquiry on good quality Air Seeder Bars is high if anyone has one for sale. Produces are sourcing Seed currently for their upcoming winter Cropping program. Augers, good quality Tractors and Tipper Trailers are still selling well.
