We're very determined people up here - Good old Channel 9 news ventured into the bush to do a story on how a group of Farmers are fighting against the power towers. They are powerlines, but we are calling them towers because they are so much bigger.

One of the spokesmen for the group, Greg "Rocky" Baldwin, said in an interview, "We're very determined people up here". Watch the interview here. Now I know Rocky well and played in a Footy premiership with him, and he is a ripping bloke, but determined he is. The group is fighting tooth and nail to stop these towers, and let me tell you, they are all determined people.

It's been an interesting campaign, and I have been watching from afar. My brother Ben is also a spokesman, and he said that it has actually brought the community together. They are a much tighter-knit group than ever before. So sometimes, out of a disaster comes good.

But it worries me the effort they are putting in because it takes them away from the main game, Farming. As a side note, I see a question posed to Grain Farmers asking them what their biggest concerns were outside the Weather. The answers were government intervention and government policies, Grain prices going the same way as Livestock prices, Machinery costs, Diesel prices and Input costs. See what I mean? Farmers have to deal with so much within their own businesses without having to fight off outsiders who are trying to take away their right to Farm. Reply to dwaind@farmtender.com.au
