Unique input buying model - We have spoken about Insurance and Shire Rates in the last couple of weeks, and it has certainly invited plenty of commentary.

They are two costs that have become out of control, although we do have options with insurance, in that we don't have to insure things.

Farm Inputs have become a big expense for Farmers these days, especially for the Cropping guys. Any way of saving money on, things like Fertiliser and Chemical needs to be explored. That's why my ears pricked up when I got speaking to Rob Dawes, from Rob Dawes Consulting. Rob has a group of Cropping Farmers who use his services to make sure they are paying the absolute right price for their inputs. Rob will advise the Farmer and then consult with the retailer on behalf of the customer to make sure they are getting the best value possible. Obviously, this is done with some Farming clients with some scale.

It's a unique and interesting business model, and I look forward to interviewing Rob (see some of the questions here) at our FarmTender2024 - Entrepreneurs in Farming event on March 1. Reply to dwaind@farmtender.com.au
