Yarding: 45,601
Agents penned 26,590 lambs, quality varied throughout with excellent lines of heavy trade and export presented off feed. Quality dropped away in the trade weight and light lamb categories and prices reflected this as buyers were selective when bidding. Light trade sold to $12 cheaper and to $20 in places, medium trade were to $10 softer, heavy trade sold firm for the better quality well finished lambs and the secondary types sold to $12/head cheaper. Heavy export lambs sold to a top of $288 holding firm again for the well finished lambs off feed and to $10/head cheaper for the secondary types.
Store buyers were active but also selective when bidding, light lambs back to the paddock under 18kg sold from $47 to $138, back $7 and lambs to feed on over 18kg made from $128 to $178/head. Lambs to the trade to suit MK orders under 18kg sold from $121 to $126, back $8, 18-24kg, sold from $125 to $203 and 24-26kg sold from $191 to $221/head, with an average range from 750c to 790c/kg cwt. Export score 4 over 26kg sold from $208 to $288/head, to average 770c to 810c/kg cwt.
Sheep numbers increased to 19,000 penned, the market opened softer, not all buyers were operating fully and bidding lacked any intensity throughout the yarding. Light sheep dropped $16, medium sheep were $20 to $25 softer and heavy mutton sold to $34/head cheaper. Merino wethers sold from $65 to $108, Merino ewes from $36 to $121 and heavy crossbred mutton made from $80 to $129/head.
