Yarding: 15,745
Lamb numbers decreased to 10,359 penned, quality was again patchy, well-presented lambs with good weight cover and finish were in limited supply. A large portion of the yarding were plainer secondary types. Not all the usual buyers were present and not operating fully. Trade weight lambs presented in excellent condition with good finish sold firm to a few dollars dearer, while the plainer and light lambs sold $10 to $15 cheaper. Extra heavy export lambs were in limited supply sold to a top of $290/head selling to $5 to $10 softer.
Lambs back to the paddock sold from $31 to $115 and lambs to feed on made from $95 to $172/head. Light trade lambs under 18kg sold from $44 to $142/head. Trade lambs 18 to 22kg sold from $148 to $195, lambs 22 to 26kg sold $188 to $238/head to have a wide range from 730c to 850c/kg cwt. Heavy export lambs 26 to 30kg made from $240 to $270 and over 30kg sold from $260 to $290/head with an average range of 800c to 900c/kg cwt. Merino lambs sold well, lights weights made from $23 to $120 and heavier weights from $120 to $145. Hoggets sold from $104 to $147 for the crossbreds and $34 to $120 for the Merino’s.

Mutton numbers dropped to 5,300, Merino wethers sold from $69 to $144 selling to $10 cheaper. Merino Ewes made from $32 to $88 for the lighter weights and $80 to $150/head for the heavy weights, selling firm to $10 cheaper. Heavy crossbred mutton made from $78 to $125, and the light weights made from $57 to $99, selling $8 to $15/head softer.
