There's a big divide here

There's a big divide here ---- I spent the day at Evoke Ag in Adelaide today. What I took away most was those involved in the Ag Tech, Carbon, Sustainability, Environmental, Venture Capital, and Government (other too) side of things are so far removed from Farmers and Farming.

If I hear the letters ESG or the word sustainable again, I'll scream. These guys talk as if they know what Farmers want and how to solve their problems, but they are so far off the mark that it's not funny. They just don't talk the language.

I reckon this was 98 percent of the crowd. I estimate there to be a couple of thousand.

David Jochinke, a Farmer North of Horsham and NFF vice president, was candid in saying he ran his Farm to be profitable, and sustainability to him was the ability to be able to pass his Farm onto the next generation. He certainly was an outlier in the overall tone of the event, and it was so refreshing to hear.
