The top 10 buying habits of Farmers over the last 10 years

By Dwain Duxson

We at Farm Tender have observed the buying habits of Farmers over the last 10 years. It's been interesting to watch. Here are the top 10, followed by some recommendations.

1) Buyers are many times more interested in something that is fairly priced or priced right.

We recommend you want to sell something, price it to sell.

2) Buyers don't want to spend too much time looking.

We recommend you ask our staff to refresh your listings, so they are constantly on top of each sub-category. Just ask.

3) In the internet era, Farmers know what they want.

We recommend you don't waste time waiting to list something "in season". Just list it.

4) Buyers are attracted to well presented items.

We recommend sellers put some extra time and effort into the presentation of their listings, wording, images, etc.

5) Buyers hate it when they arent' fed the right information.

We recommend you be open and honest when presenting an item for sale. In the internet era, you get found out quickly.

6) Buyers want to talk directly to the listing owner.

We recommend if you get a lead, act quickly. Don't take days to return messages or reply to texts.

7) Buyers are using wanted ads when they want something specific.

We recommend you keep an eye on all the wanted ads. You just might have what they are looking for.

8) The 3 percent rule. Research says that only 3 percent of the market is ready to buy right now.

We recommend that you act quickly and not miss the opportunity.

9) But 30 percent have a need but are not quite ready.

We recommend that once you make the decision to sell, get it out there in the marketplace.

10) Buyers like service and value relationships.

We recommend when talking to a potential buyer, you be punctual and treat them how you would want to be treated.
