This week I wanted to put a focus on Soil Carbon and a few alternative products, something a bit different from the mainstream. There is a bit more interest in these sorts of products lately.
Below is a bit of a rundown from one of our suppliers LawrieCo.
It hasn't gone undocumented the importance of Soil Carbon.
It was over 25 years ago that the founder of one of our long-standing suppliers, LawrieCo, recognised the value of soil carbon and began adopting new farm practices that focused on rebuilding soil organic carbon (or SOC).
Originally experimenting with different nutrition sources on the family Farm, these initial trials quickly grew into the fledgling roots of LawrieCo.
Are you wanting to rebuild your soil health? A complete program is available to rebuild soil health as well as addressing mineral imbalances in the soil structure.
With the development of the LawrieCo Soil Carbon Regeneration system which alongside their range of biological products, aims to reduce the need for synthetic Fertilisers and inputs while delivering tangible financial returns in the form of Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs) to participating landowners.
Working alongside existing Farm practices LawrieCo aims to walk alongside farmers to introduce proven biological alternatives into their farms to improve soil health, water retention, crop yield and ACCUs.
For more information or to start your own Carbon Soil Project, please get in touch to arrange a discussion with a Carbon Specialist.
Benefits of LawrieCo's SOC building System
► Build Soil Organic Carbon (SOC) by on average 0.10% per year.
► Increase water use efficency; 2% SOC has double the water holding of soil with 1% SOC
► Biological Fertilisers integrated with conventional Fertilisers improve soil and plant health.
► Improved Farm profitability.
► Increase water infiltration, reduce evaporation and run-off.
► Increase plant resistance to disease, insects, frost and drought.
► Soil health reduces reliance on Ag Chemicals.
► New income opportunity from the sale of carbon credits.
In tandem with LawrieCo's Soil Carbon Regeneration System, we can offer a range of products designed to work with existing farming practices to increase SOC. Check out some below:
