Swimming naked - What do all these have in common? Plant-based Meats, Indoor Farming, Lab-Grown Meat, Animal Free Dairy, and Methane reducing Livestock Feed. They have all had billions invested into each of these categories, and if they aren't extinct, then they are on life support.

What they all tried to do was replace existing systems, and they failed. Someone said, "People get so enamoured with the shiny new toys and technology, they forget how efficient existing systems that they are trying to replace are".

Join The Farmers Club and see what they are talking about.

Other sectors that have yet to gain much traction are Regenerative Ag, Carbon Farming, Biologicals, and Robotics. These, too, have had billions invested in each and haven't necessarily failed yet but aren't making the traction they thought they would.

We have Agricultural and Food systems that are established and very efficient; anyone trying to disrupt these systems will need very deep pockets and plenty of time. And then nothing is guaranteed. Ag-Tech took a real hit in 2023, with many business models being exposed. As Warren Buffett said, "Only when the tide goes out do you learn who has been swimming naked".
