Quality was again mixed with the medium to heavy trade and export lambs presenting in excellent condition, quality dropped away quickly with a large portion of the yarding secondary types lacking finish. All the usual buying group attended, more bidding intensity over the well-presented lambs with good weight cover and finish, also the store buyers were more active on the better-quality light lambs, but not all buyers were fully active and some selective throughout the market. Light trade lambs sold firm, Medium and heavy trade sold to $3 to $8/head dearer for the better quality and firm for the secondary types and heavy export were in limited supply made to $279 and sold $4 to $8/head better.
Lambs back to the paddock under 18kg selling from $13 to $133, and lambs over 18kg made from $130 to $166/head. Lambs to the trade under 18kg sold from $88 to $127. Lambs 18-22kg, sold from $127 to $168, Lambs 22-24kg, sold from $156 to $188, Lamb 24-26kg made from $184 to $204/head. Averaging from 640c to 740c/kg cwt. Export 26 to 30kg sold from $190 to $231 and 30kg and over made $229 to $279/head, with a wide range of 690c to 780c/kg cwt.
Mutton quality was mixed, not all the buyers operated in a stronger market across most categories. Light sheep sold firm, Medium and heavy weights sold $10 to $15 dearer. Merino wethers from $16 to $126, Merino ewes from $16 to $126 and heavy crossbred mutton from $86 to $132/head.
