Yarding: 30,434
Lamb supply remained similar at 20,900 penned, quality improved throughout the yarding ranging from plain to excellent. All the usual buying group attended and operated in a stronger market across most categories, all trade lambs with good finish were $4 to $10/head dearer, while the secondary lamb sold firm. Heavy export lambs sold to a top of $290/head and were $3 to $7/head stronger on last weeks levels.
Store buyers were more active putting pressure on processors on the lighter lambs, selling $4 to $15/head dearer in places. Light lambs back to the paddock under 18kg selling from $28 to $147, and lambs to feed on over 18kg made from $134 to $172/head. Lambs to the trade to suit MK orders under 18kg sold from $122 to $144. Lambs to the trade 18-22kg, sold from $138 to $184/head. Lambs 22-24kg, sold from $168 to $207/head and lambs 24-26kg made from $194 to $223/head, the neat trade lambs with good weight and finish average from 790c to 840c and the secondary types from 720c to 770c/kg cwt. Export score 4 lambs over 26kg sold from $216to $290/head.
Sheep numbers halved with 9,490 penned of mixed quality, bidding increased intensity with sales firm to $7/head stronger across the yarding. Merino wethers selling from $58 to $109/head. Merion ewes sold from $36 to $116, and heavy crossbred mutton sold from $75 to $138/head.
