Yarding: 31,500
Quality improved across most categories throughout the yarding, medium to heavy trade and export lambs again presented in excellent condition off feed and more numbers offered, quality dropped away quickly with the secondary types lacking finish. All the usual buying group attended, not all were fully active in a stronger market. Light trade lambs sold firm to $4/head dearer, medium and heavy trade sold $4 to $10/head stronger with a widespread over the weight categories depending on quality, weight and finish. Heavy export lambs sold to a top of $290, to $10/head stronger.
Lamb back to the paddock under 18kg selling from $13 to $133, and lambs over 18kg made from $130 to $166/head. Lambs to the trade to suit MK orders under 18kg sold from $67 to $131, 18-22kg, sold from $126 to $185, 22-24kg, sold from $169 to $199 and 24-26kg made from $189 to $211/head. Averaging from 680c to 760c with sales reaching over 800c/kg in places. Export 26 to 30kg sold from $212 to $237 and 30kg and over made $240 to $290/head. With an average range 720c to 780c/kg.
A similar yarding of mutton, Quality ranged from plain to good, not all buyers operated in a stronger market across the heavy weight categories. Medium and heavy weight sheep sold to $15 dearer and more in places, light sheep remained firm to slightly cheaper. Merino wethers selling from $45 to $128/head. Merino ewes sold from $5 to $120 and heavy crossbred mutton sold from $90 to $178/head.
