Agents penned 29,992 Lambs, the quality was mixed with a range from plain to very good. All the usual buying group attended, but not all operated fully. There was still good competition for the very neat well finished short skinned lambs. Trade lambs sold to $7/head softer, heavy trade sold to $5 cheaper, heavy export sold firm to $3 easier and extra heavy over 30kg cwt sold firm to top $280/head. Feeders and restockers weren’t as active today, but still putting pressure on the processes with prices holding firm to $5/head cheaper in places. Lightweight lambs back to the paddock, sold from $98 to $182/head. Lambs suiting MK orders under 18kg sold from $128 to $156/head.

Lambs to the trade 18 to 22kg sold from $160 to $188, 22 to 24kg, made from $165 to $199/head to range from 717c to 895c to average800c to 840c/kg cwt. Lambs 24 to 26kg selling from $186 to $216/head, to average 775c to 785c/kg cwt. Export 4 score 26 to 30kg lambs, sold from $207 to $238 to average 790c and over 30kg sold from $240 to $280/head to average an estimated 750c to 760c/kg cwt. Merino lambs sold from $110 to $174/head. Hoggets sold to $175 for crossbreds and Merino’s sold to $186/head.

Sheep numbers decreased to 10,476 yarded, the quality was plain to very good, all processors were present, bitting started strong but the demanded wasn’t as intense as other weeks, overall the market was firm to $5 softer across all categories.

Heavy Merino wethers over 24kg sold from $151 to $220, with lighter weights making from $132 to $170/head to average 630c to 650c cwt.Heavy Merino ewes sold from $160 to $200/head to average 635c to 650c/kg and heavy crossbred ewes made from $155 to $250/head, with an average of 620c to 630c/kg cwt. Merino rams sold to $180/head
