Lamb supply increased to 21,691, the quality ranged from good to very good. Most of the usual buying group attended, but not all operated fully in a market that started strong and eased as the sale progressed, overall ended $5 to $12/head softer to a week ago. Store buyers were again active, but more selective on quality in the heavier lines, with lambs back to the paddock and to feed on sold from $80 to $171, under 18kg cwt and from $175 to $238 for 18kg and over to be $4 to $12/head cheaper in places.

Light lambs under 18kg cwt to suit MK orders the trade sold from $126 to $180, to $8/head softer. Trade lambs 18kg to 22kg sold from $172 to $220 and lambs 22kg to 24kg made from $214 to $230 to be $5 to $12/head cheaper, with an average range of 890c to 910c/kg cwt. Heavy lambs 24kg to 26kg sold from $232 to $256, selling to $8 softer and export lambs 26kg to 30kg made from $261 to $287 to be $6/head cheaper, with and average range of 915c to 930c/kg cwt.

Sheep numbers also increased this week with 9,215 yarded, the quality ranged from plain to excellent, in another very strong market. Excellent lines of heavy Merino wethers present, made from $165 to $235, selling $5 to $14/head dearer with an average range of 650c to 670c/kg cwt. Heavy Merino ewes sold from $164 to $220 to average 630c to 650c and heavy crossbred mutton made $161 to $228/head, holding firm to slightly softer to average 610c to 620c/kg cwt.
