Lamb supply eased this week to 19,171 yarded, the quality ranged from plain to very good. Not all the usual buying group attended, in a market that was mostly firm to $6 easier on the trade weights and strong competition from store buyers had lambs back to the paddock firm to $5/head dearer.

Store buyers were very active and put pressure on processors with lambs back to the paddock and to feed on sold from $87 to $178, under 18kg cwt and from $174 to $220 for 18kg and over ending firm to $5/head dearer. Light lambs under 18kg cwt to suit MK orders to the trade sold from $140 to $170, firm to $4/head dearer. Trade lambs 18kg to 22kg sold from $172 to $209 and lambs 22kg to 24kg made from $200 to $224, firm to $6/head softer, with an average range of 870c to 890c/kg cwt. Heavy lambs 24kg to 26kg sold from $220 to $246, selling to $5 softer to average 880c to 890c and with limited numbers offered in the heavy export lambs, 26kg to 30kg made from $248 to $270/head with and average range of 870c to 910c/kg cwt.

Sheep numbers also eased this week with 8,205 yarded, the quality ranged from plain to very good with not all buyers present and not the competition as bidding was erratic at times, with sales $15 to $40/head cheaper across all categories. Heavy Merino wethers made from $155 to $219, selling to $15/head softer with an average range of 570c to 615c/kg cwt. Heavy Merino ewes sold from $140 to $198 to average 530c to 600c and heavy crossbred mutton made $130 to $181/head, with many sales under 500c/kg cwt.
