I've been lucky enough to work from home for Farm Tender for the past 8 years. The positives of working from home definitely outweigh the negatives. But this first week of School holidays has not been without its challenges. I have two beautiful kids, Flynn, 9 and Sadie, 5. They have known nothing else other than Mum working from home full time. Most of my day is spent in front of my computer and on the phone.

So why is it that they can be quiet as a church mouse when you aren't talking on the phone, but as soon as I hold it to my ear, they decide it's time to start fighting and complaining?

I've perfected the be quiet or else face and also have the ability to block out "Mum, help, she's going to kill me" pleas for help while I'm talking on the phone. Sadie does whisper, "Mum, am I in trouble when you get off the phone?". She already knows the answer just by looking at my face.

I've been creative and made cleaning their room and making their bed a competition... I set a timer, and they can't come out until the timer goes off, and then I choose a winner of who's done the best job. I think the record was over 30 minutes, but I think they may have smuggled in an iPad and a Nintendo... But pick your battles, I say.

So, if you too are working from home during the school Holidays.... Hats off to you!!
