Only 480 get Victorian EID grant

Around 480 Victorian Sheep producers have successfully secured the Agriculture Victorian EID grant on offer driving around $2.4 million in investment in software, new equipment and tags.

The compulsory move to an electronic tagging system in Victoria has been a controversial one.

We have a heard many reports of sheep producers missing out on the $750,000 grant with ABS figures say that over 10,000 farms in Victoria record some form of sheep production on their farm. So only around 5% of producers got any sort of funding

State Government Minister for Agriculture Jaala Pulford went on to say "This is game-changing technology and Victorian farmers are proudly leading the way."
