NT the place to be - Before our eyes we are seeing the coming of age of Agriculture in the Northern Territory. You know what, it might for an opening for any bright young person who is interested in Ag.

We are seeing the development of a Hay industry where the maternity is in having better quality Pasture to Harvest. In days gone by, the Hay in the NT consisted of just the grass that grew. The other thing is the upgrading of Machinery with HD Balers and the like.

Don't miss a thing. Join The Farmers Club.

The Cattle industry has pricked its ears at the newfound quality of Hay grown and is starting to use this Hay on their younger stock to fatten them quicker. A practice used in the more intensive Cattle regions further to the South East. It's just a natural evolution for these guys as genetics improve.

The key ingredient is Water. Also growing wings is the Cotton industry. It's well and truly in a development phase with the new Gin at Katherine. Many who have entered the Cotton industry in the NT also have operations in Queensland or NSW, so years of growing experience can be tapped into. Plus, the seasons are different, so these Farmers have taken advantage of expanding in the NT and can Truck this expensive Cotton Machinery between the properties. The North is opening up, and it will be so interesting to watch its progress. I would love to hear from any NT Farmers with their point of view.
