Dunstan Principal Craig Miller has announced successful testing and adoption of the Hydraulic Drive chaser bins to their range for 2020.
The bins are specifically designed for high horsepower tractors typically used for seeding rigs that don’t have PTO. Recent developments in hydraulic drive technology have allowed the adoption of the hydraulic technology into the Chaser bins. The benefit of this for grain producers is the extra versatility of being able to use a tractor that typically only works over seeding.
“We’ve had inquiries over the last few years from clients who’ve got a high horsepower articulated tractor that’s not being used at harvest,” said Craig Miller, Dunstan owner. “We made a decision to test a hydraulically- powered bin over the 2019 harvest to ensure it was 100% ready for sale to our customers, and it’s proven to be very successful. This also aligns with a move to larger bins to cater for larger capacity headers and the need for larger tractors to handle the mass of those bins.”
Mr Miller also added: “The hydraulic bin aligns with Dunstan leading the way in OH&S-friendly products. The hydraulic drive removes the need for a PTO shaft - possibly the single most dangerous item on any machine. Other OH&S-friendly options offered by Dunstan are hydraulic braking for bins, full ground level control for operators and firefighting kits.”
The Hydraulic Drive option joins the Dunstan range of Mother bins up to 150 ton and Chaser bins up to 60 ton capacity. Dunstan offer a huge range of options on all bins to make harvest easier and safer for all involved.
