Lamb numbers increased to 11,362 penned with more than half new season lambs. Quality ranged from plain to excellent in places, the usual buying group attend and there was more activity from store buyers on the new season lambs. Light lambs sold to $5 cheaper, medium and heavy trade weights to $4 better, and extra heavy export lambs where to $15/head dearer in places.

New season lambs sold to the trade under 18kg from $130 to $148, 18 to 22kg made from $166 to $179, 22 to 24kg sold from $181 to $215 and 24 to 26kg made from $195 to $232/head with an average range from 780c to 820c/kg cwt. Restockers paid from $78 to $179/head. Old Lambs to the trade 18 to 26kg made from $142 to $200/head and heavy export over 26kg sold from $185 to $279/head.

Sheep numbers also increased to 4,262 of mixed quality ranging from plain to very good. Buyers were active but bidding was very erratic at times, Merino wethers made from $88 to $175 gaining $3/head. Merino ewes sold from $55 to $164 slipping $5/head and heavy crossbred mutton made from $142 to $170/head. Mutton mostly tracked 490c to 550c/kg.
