Agents penned 26,048 lambs with quality ranging from plain to excellent. All the usual buying group attended in a market that started out firm to gain some momentum as the sale progressed and finished to be $9/head dearer in places. Light trade lambs sold mostly firm to a few dollars softer, while medium and heavy trade weights sold $4 to $9 dearer. Heavy and extra heavy export lambs sold to a top of $290, to be $3 to $8/head stronger depending on quality. More store buyers were present, with some more active than others. Lambs back to the paddock sold firm to $8 dearer, while lambs under 18kg sold from $83 to $160, and those over 18kg returned from $165 to $191/head. Very light score 1 and 2 lambs to the processor to suit MK orders (bag lamb) sold from $112 to $158, to be $5/head softer.

Trade lambs weighing 18 to 22kg sold from $159 to $200, while the 22 to 24kg range returned from $193 to $212/head, averaging from 830cto 860c/kg cwt. Lambs weighing 24 to 26kg sold from $204 to $222/head to average 840c/kg cwt. Export score 4 lambs sold from $210 to$257 with those over 30kg making from $239 to $290/head to average from 740c to 815c/kg cwt. Merino lambs sold from $94 to $185/head.

Sheep numbers decreased to 6,610 in a plain to good quality market. Not all buyers were active, and the market was mostly firm to a few dollars softer on the back of last week. Heavy Merino wethers made from $168 to $230 to average from 680c to 690c/kg cwt, while the lighter weights sold from $135 to $180/head. Heavy Merino ewes sold from $165 to $213 to average from 650c to 670c and heavy crossbred ewes made from $160 to $250/head, averaging 640c/kg cwt. Merino rams sold to a top of $125 and crossbreds sold to $100/head.
