Merino Lambs sell well to Ballarat

Yarding - 30,000 (-2400).
Lambs - 24,000 (+2600).
Sheep - 6,000 (-5000).
Agents drew for 24,000 lambs. The quality was plain to very good. All the usual buying group were in attendance, light lambs back to the paddock and MK orders still sort after to sell firm on last week’s levels. An excellent run of Merino lambs selling to $200/head with an estimated weight of 26 to 28kg cwt.
Agents reported light lambs back to the paddock and MK orders sold fully firm. Light trade weights 18 to 20kg cwt sold firm. Lambs 20 to 24kg cwt sold fully firm with the very neat short skinned lambs averaging between 850c to 890c/kg cwt. Heavy trade Lambs 24 to 26kg cwt sold $5 to $8/head cheaper. Heavy lambs, 26 to 30kg, sold firm and not the weight on offer. Over 30kg types also sold firm to top at $292/head.
Sheep yarding of 6,000 around 5,000 back on last week's yarding. The quality was plain to very good. Agents reported the market firm. There wasn't the weight on offer this week across the yarding. Merino wethers sold from $90 to $270 and Merino ewes sold to $266/head. Crossbred ewes sold to $240/head. Merino rams sold to $290/head.
